BANDOLERO SHOOTOUT CHAMPION
The Stateline Speedway 2024 Bando Champion!
Bandolero Shootout 8/12-14
We did a lot of updating this weekend on how everything was going with qualifying, heat, races, and mains but we did want to give a huge shoutout to all of our sponsors and all the wonderful people who make all of this possible. We had so many supportive people at the track this weekend. We met some really cool new people from other states and they all complimented Maddex on his driving, the car build itself, and the overall way our team carried themselves and that was awesome. Building this car literally from a bare chassi up with every single nut, bolt, part, and piece new from top to bottom was the best thing we could have ever done and Maddex has just really showed up this season surprising us all. We are so proud of Maddex. We had an absolute blast these last 3 days and will be back at it again this coming Saturday Aug 17th and then rounding out the season with championship night Sept 7th. We would have loved to have gone to Iowa for Nationals but because we had to miss a whole race locally last Friday we need to stay local if he wants to keep his 1st place Stateline points.

Race recap 07/26/24
The day started out super awesome. Maddex was turning 16.1's right out of the gate in practice one and practice 2. Decided to do one last practice session before parking it and Dad decided to push him to go just a little bit faster and that ended with maddex walking the wall and bending the rear frame horns. Got the car back in amd thrashed on it. Got everything straightened back out and made qualifying. Qualified fast time with 16.179 which was awesome after thrashing to fix the car. Went out for the heat race and started P6 and just hung out for a little bit and then came the racing incident. A car spun on the straight stretch right over Maddex front nose and there was just nowhere for him to go. It is racing and it happens (nothing intentional) the car was fairly messed up but Maddex pulled the car back in line and decided to see how it would handle to finish the heat race. He made it a couple laps and the car just wasn't right (to be expected) and decided to come in and start thrashing again for the main event. The bandoler main event then got moved up so we were reqlly running short on time to get this car together for the main event. At this point we had to decide what fix would be more important as far as replacing all the front suspension or straightening out the back of the car. Of course, we chose to replace all the front end and leave the back the way it was. The back Fram horns is all that was bent. The frame was perfectly straight and the car was square. Got the car on the Hammond plates, checked the castor camber, and sent it. In the main event Maddex started last place. Again, he just hung out for a little bit and it worked for him. He missed a couple of wrecks by a hair and we could not have been more excited he was able to miss the carnage as he had been through enough for the day. Maddex ended up taking the win in his main event for the night and it was very much deserved. We have 2 weeks to get the car ready and word is we picked up another amazing sponsor after last night's race. This is racing and this is what its all about. Thank you again to all of our amazing sponsors for all the support and helping make all of this possible. You all rock

Race Recap Saturday 7-20
It was another successful night of racing in the bandolero for Clanton Racing. We did not run heat races due to the heat we have been experiencing here with 100+ temps. Went out for practice one and turned what felt like some great laps and the transponder was not working so we didn't have any times. Went out for practice 2 and ended up turning a 16.178 and brought it back in and parked it. Maddex said leave the setup just how it is and don't touch a thing. Dad thought it could be a little tighter but the kid was happy and liked it so we left it and it worked very well for the main event. We went out for the main event and had a great car turning some pretty great lap times and winning the main event. When this kid hits the track he gets in the zone and there is very little that phases him or gets him in his own head. He is just so laid back when he gets into that car. He is amazingly smooth with his car control and his lines. We are so excited to watch him move up next year but we will miss racing with this amazing group of kiddos we have this season. We have had so many compliments on his driving and his ability to be smooth and so many people are excited to see him in a big car next season. This kid has so much support and encouragement at the track. P.s. this car is for sale in September turn key minus the seat. Thank you again to all of our amazing badass sponsors who support this kid so much behind the scenes and who continue to show up and support at the track as well.
Race Recap Saturday 6-29
ALL the bando kids got to come home with 200.00 last night. It was a sponsored race night and it was awesome to see the smiles on 6 bando kids faces when they found out they all got to bring home some money. This is what its all about and those smiles is what makes it all worth it. First off we want to thank all of our sponsors as you all help make this possible. Maddex ended up qualifying fastest for the night with a 16.4. All the kids were a little off their normal times as the track was a little greasy and hot. Maddex started in the back of the A heat and ended up winning his heat race. In the main event Maddex started p3 and ended up winning his main event. We had a few cautions in the main and of course some restarts and it was an overall fun and relaxing night. Congratularions to Zachary score on finishing P2 and Landyn Alexander in P3. Our next races are July 20th and July 26th at Findlay Stadium Stateline Speedway. I will post a schedule later for the 26th as it will be a very early day with qualifying at I believe 1pm or 2pm as there is a lot to get through that day.

Race Recap Friday June 7th -Photos from 7&8th
During practice yesterday the track was greasy and required a little more wheeling than the last few races. Turned about 19 laps all day for practice and the car just wasn't where it normally is performance-wise. The most we were getting out of the car was around the 16.4s and that's not normal. Decided to do a once-over on setup again and the scales showed our cross was 6% lower than what we normally run it at. Fixed the problem and went out to qualify with fast time at 16.0 which is normal times for Maddex. During the heat race, Maddex started in the back and just went with it for most of the heat race and on the very last lap Maddex picked up the win with a crossover move in turn 2. During the main event Maddex was leading most of the race and once we hit 10 laps or less the car just fell on its face and the 2nd place car of Zach Score passed him like he was standing still. Maddex radio in and said he had no throttle. Maddex was able to gimp the car to a 2nd place Main event finish for the night. Upon inspection after the main event we found the throttle cable return had popped over causing the throttle to come out completely off the carb. The throttle cable issue has been resolved and that won't be happening again. The kid was upset about losing a race that way but showed his support and now we move on to day 2. The kid is anxious to get back out there and redeem himself. We have 3 to 4 more cars joining our bando class tonight and it should make for a fun night. We want to continue to thank all of our amazing sponsors who help make all of this possible.

Race recap 5/17 and 05/18
It was a long weekend with a doubleheader. Friday night we qualified fastest. For the heat race, we started in the back and ended up finishing 3rd in the heat race. For the main event, we took 1st place. The number 7 car keeps getting faster and faster so he may give Maddex a run for his money this season. Saturday was a very long day fighting the rain and drying the track. We qualified fastest again. In the heat race we started position 1 and finished position 1 however the start was not the best and Maddex said it felt like the car wasn't fully engaging for the whole race. We changed a couple things and put some new parts on and sent it out there for the main event. Maddex ended up winning his main event for Saturday night as well. It's crazy how you can give the kids all the setup in the world and the best parts and consistent maintenance but unless they are racing to the best of their ability it doesn't matter. This year is the first year Maddex has been able to consistently say "this is what its doing" and "this is what I need it to do" which has helped tremendously in knowing what we need to do for him to drive the car not setting up the car and making the driver adjust his driving capabilities to match the setup in the car. There are parts on these cars that need changed every couple of races and even the smallest tweak can make or break these cars. After Maddex finished his main event on Friday upon checking everything Saturday morning for Saturday's race his castor camber was off and he was toed out. There was no contact in that main event. It just goes to show that these cars require you to check things consistently and sometimes after the heat race and after the main for the next race. In these cars the corner us where the speed is kept. As always, we can never continue to thank all of our wonderful sponsors enough. We are so grateful for each and every one

New Stateline Track Record!
Last night was a great night for Maddex. He managed to break track record, win his heat race, and win his main event. Towards the end of last season he climbed into a legend car and gave that a whirl. After some practice sessions at the track and racing it 1x he didn't really feel like that was the type of car he wanted to race. While he did ok he was not confident that's where he wanted to go and wasn't sure he liked that class. After battling other cars all last season, having some racing incidents, and still continuing to learn to keep the car from spinning we decided to give bandoleros one more year before picking another class to move up to as we felt as parents he still had some learning to do and he could benefit from another year in the bandolero class. Never did we expect that he would accomplish this much in the first 3 races of the season between wenatchee and stateline so far. When it comes to kids it's never an easy decision on whether to hold them down or move them up. You don't want to move them up before they are ready and then they are the root cause of wrecked cars and damage on the track. We can say with great certainty that this will be his last year in bandos 100%. When we entered this season it was our intent to get him to a diverse range of different tracks to expand his driving skills and to adapt to different driving styles for those different tracks hence why our schedule is so crazy. The season is still early and anything can happen. After this winter and building the new bando once he climbed in it was like something clicked and we have seen a completely different driver from last season. He has really showed a drive in himself to learn, run clean lines, be smooth, etc. We greatly appreciate all the support from family, friend, sponsors, and even the competitors in his class.
Thank you 2024 sponsors

Friday night racing was a little rough but Saturday more than made up for it. According to the track, Maddex broke track record during practice and the main event being down in the 15.5's, won his heat race, and won his main event. Now, because he disnt break record during qualifying it doeant count but super cool informqtion to know. This was great in itself but we are most proud of how his driving skills have changed and his ability to correct a very upset car on the verge of being out of control. This kid really wheeled his car today and pulled it out of some pretty upset moments. Cannot wait to see more of his racing this season.
